MILL VISITORS PLEASE NOTE:

THIS IS A WORKING SAWMILL. PLEASE ABIDE BY THE FOLLOWING RULES

1. MILL TRAFFIC HAS RIGHT OF WAY AT ALL TIMES. THAT MEANS LOG LOADERS, TRUCKS, FORKLIFTS, OTHER HEAVY EQUIPMENT… AND THE DOG. THIS IS FOR YOUR SAFETY, NOT OURS (well aside from the dog, don’t run over the dog)
2. ENTRY INTO THE GREEN MILL BUILDING AND LOG YARDS IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED UNLESS ESCORTED. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!
3. COVERED FOOTWEAR MUST BE WORN. NO PLUGGERS, NO BAREFOOT, AND STILETTOS AREN’T A GREAT IDEA EITHER
4. DON’T TOUCH THE GEAR. We know you own a tablesaw, but it probably doesn’t have 60 HP and a feed hob. Just don’t okay – stitching hands back on is not our forte, and I wouldn’t trust the local hospital to do it either.
5. PLEASE USE YOUR COMMON SENSE. Follow the signs, wear PPE as directed, park in the area set aside for parking, don’t park behind equipment or in doorways, don’t put body parts into stupid places where they might get cut off, don’t climb the log piles, don’t sneak up behind the bloke swinging a chainsaw, don’t dart across behind a log loader in your Honda Civic… there are more hazards here then I could possibly list so please use your head.
6. IF THE GATE’S SHUT, WE’RE SHUT: CALL US. We sometimes shut the gate so we don’t have to worry about people wandering in. We also shut the gate because we aren’t working. That’s why we have posted hours… so we can shut the gate and work (or nap) uninterrupted. (And yes, if the fish are biting on a Tuesday that’s another perfect reason to shut the gate!)
